Two members nominated by the Cooke County Republican Women (CCRW) were honored last week in Fort

Worth, at an event sponsored by the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW). The Tribute To

Women Luncheon, held in conjunction with the Republican Party of Texas State Convention, recognized the

contributions of outstanding grassroots activists from clubs throughout Texas.

Representing Cooke County were Rosina Salsman, CCRW 2014 President, and Sarah Ann Hess, Vice

President-Campaign Activities.

Salsman has been politically active for many years, working on a number of GOP campaigns. Most recently,

she was Secretary/Treasurer for one of the candidates in the 2012 County Sheriff race. In addition to her

leadership role as club president, Salsman continues to help produce the club’s monthly newsletter, and

monitor social media and public relations efforts. She also serves as a liaison between CCRW and the

County GOP. Advocating for women is another component of Salsman’s service to the community, at

Temple Baptist Church and Abigail’s Arms Cooke County Family Crisis Center. In addition, she was recently

elected Treasurer of the Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Hess has been involved in the Republican Party for almost 10 years. She is an active member in both the

CCRW and the Cooke County Young Republicans. As a Precinct Chairman, Hess serves on the Party’s

County Executive Committee. She has also worked as Election Judge for several elections. She has been a

delegate to State GOP Conventions, as well as attending TFRW conventions and events. As VP-Campaign

Activities, Hess reports to TFRW about members’ volunteer time promoting candidates and the Party. She

coordinated the club’s candidate forums in advance of this year’s primary election. Hess serves as

Newsletter Editor and assists in the production of the annual membership yearbook.

CCRW was established in 1991. All Republican Women who are registered to vote are eligible to join.

Republican men can join as Associate Members. For more information, go to www.cookegop.com/ccrw, or
