On September 10, 2012, at a Special Meeting of the Cooke County Republican Executive Committee, long-time Cooke County Republican Chairman Robert (Bob) Eggleston tendered his resignation to the Committee. 

The Executive Committee voted to have local attorney, Chuck Bartush of Muenster, Texas serve as Cooke County Republican Chairman.  Bartush appointed Pauline Lesch of Valley View, to serve as Vice Chairman. Pat Peale of Lake Kiowa had served as Vice-Chairman with Bob.

Bob Eggleston had served as Cooke County Vice Chairman for 14 years with Pat Peale, Ed Zielinski, Frank Rust, and Byron Berry and as Chairman for 4 years.  All members of the Executive Board were profuse with their praise for Mr. Eggleston, noting that under his watch there is a Republican in every elected position in Cooke County government. 

Bartush thanked the Committee for their confidence and said he would be calling on Bob for advice and support.

The Cooke County Republican Party wishes to remind everyone that they can still register to vote in the November election until October 9, 2012.  A registration form can be obtained at the office of Cooke County Tax Assessor-Collector, Billie Jean Knight at 212 East California Street in Gainesville; the Cooke County Republican Headquarters at 701 East California, Suite 304 in Gainesville; and the office of Chuck Bartush at 408 North Main Street in Muenster.  Just mail the registration in or bring by Ms. Knight’s office in Gainesville.
