Republican Women Sponsor NCTC Scholarship, Application Deadline April 15

North Central Texas College will award a scholarship for the fall 2011 semester,

courtesty of Cooke County Republican Women.  Applicants for the scholarship

must be residents of Cooke County, full or part time students, and Republican

women, that is, women who support the principles and candidates of the

Republican Party.  Financial need will also be part of the criteria used to judge

the applications and make the ward.

"We do not have any requirement pertaining to the course of study," said

CCRW Vice President Sharon McCormak.  "Female students are encouraged

to apply regardless of their degree program."

"While we do encourage young Republican women to join our Club, and/or

the Cooke County Young Republicans, membership in a Republican club is

not a pre-requisite," added Literacy Chairman Trish Duggan.

2009 scholarship winner, Mallorey Atkins, used her scholarship to earn her associate

degree in business at NCTC.  She is currently enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu College of

Culinary Arts in Dallas.  "We're very proud of Mallorey, and so glad that the

scholarship helped her achieve her goals," Duggan said.

Applications are available at the Gainesville campus, Office of Institutional

Advancement, Building 300, Room 309, or at www.nctc.edu.  For more

information, contact Debbie Sharp at NCTC, 940-668-4213.

Applications must be received by the college no later than

April 15, 2011.
